SAVE THE DATE: Advocacy Conference Call, March 18, 3:30 pm
UC San Diego has been aggressive about conveying the impacts of recent budget cuts to elected officials. Campus leadership, faculty, alumni and students have engaged in these efforts in one-on-one meetings, phone calls, letters, e-mails, and letters to the editor. A critical voice has been missing however, and that is our parents. It is vital that our state legislators hear from our parents to understand both the financial challenges facing parents and students and why a UC education is important to the tax payers of this state.
We encourage you to join Dominique Cano-Stocco, Director, State & Local Government Relations at UC San Diego on this call to learn how you can become involved with UC San Diego's efforts as a parent advocate. We will explain what kinds of opportunities exist, how advocacy works, and answer any of your questions. This conference call is an opportunity to gather information on the role of advocates, participating in the call does not constitute a commitment to volunteer.
To join the call, dial 1-866-740-1260 and enter code 8220142#. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Cara Appel-Silbaugh, Director Parent & Family Programs, cappelsilbaugh@ucsd.edu.
