Orientation Information 2009

If you cannot come to orientation check out the information you would have received from Parent  & Family Programs:

In PDF format: English or Espanol

Both Student and Family Orientation sessions are held individually by each College in late June or mid-September. Family members are strongly encouraged to attend their student's College orientation program. Orientation is a time to fully orient to the university community. Families will be able to meet leaders of the Colleges, including the Provost, Dean of Students, Academic Advising Staff, and students. Parents and family members will also be able to gather information on  parking, housing, dining options, buying books, medical insurance, paying tuition, and many other details that are important for not only the student's success but also the success of parents and family members. After orientation parents and family members are sure to have a complete picture of what services there are to offer at UC San Diego and become a true, informed member of our community.

Each College sent new students an email with information on dates and how to register for orientation. Parents and family members should attend the same session as their student. More information on orientation dates, costs, and registration for students can be found after logging into the New Student Orientation Web site. New parents and family members can gather more information and register at the New Parent Orientation Web site.

For more information or if you have additional questions please contact your student's College or the Parent & Family Helpline, (858) 534-7273 or parents@ucsd.edu.
